2026 UARK Jazz Festival Announces Alan Broadbent and Harvie S as Artists-in-Residence
The jazz program in the University of Arkansas Department of Music is thrilled to announce Grammy-winning pianist Alan Broadbent and acclaimed bassist Harvie S will the artists-in-residence at the 2026 UARK Jazz Festival April 15th-19th, 2026. The pair, who have performed and recorded together for many years, will be performing with multiple combinations of UARK students and faculty, as well as hosting workshops and clinics on jazz and working with the NWA Jazz All-Stars Program.
The festival will feature jazz ensembles from across the region and the state, as well as celebrate local jazz musicians and the talent in Northwest Arkansas.
Alan and Harvie’s residency is made possible by the Moye Family Jazz Residency program and a partnership with the Northwest Arkansas Jazz Society. “It is absolutely spectacular to welcome two extraordinary artists to our community” said Jazz Area Coordinator, Jake Hertzog “this year’s program will be the most extensive yet and it is so exciting to blend our on and off-campus musical communities in this way. We are so grateful to all who have made this possible.”

Concerts will take place on the University of Arkansas Campus with additional off-campus events. Featured shows will be:
Wednesday, April 15th 7:30pm at The Faulkner Center for the Performing Arts
Thursday, April 16th, 7:30pm at Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall
Friday, April 17th, 7:30pm at Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall
Saturday, April 18th, 10am-6:30pm and 7:30-9:30pm at The Faulkner Center for the Performing Arts
The full schedule of performances and workshops will be announced in March 2026.
